Dr. Elidia C. Fidel is the owner of Arlington Pediatric Dentistry. She lives and works in Arlington and has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years. She opened her first practice in Washington D.C. in 1998 and the second practice in Arlington in 2004. In 2010 she designed and built out a practice from scratch dedicated to the dental care of children.
Dr. Fidel has chosen a select group of pediatric dentists to join her at Arlington Pediatric Dentistry. Her practice is dedicated to the dental needs of infants, children, and teens. She highly values preventive care so the practice places special emphasis on educating our patients and parents in making healthy choices and developing excellent oral hygiene from early on. Her objective is to provide superior dental care for children in a fun, relaxed, and friendly environment – a place where families could find a home for their dental needs from infants through adolescence.
Dr. Fidel is a member in good standing of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Association, and the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Fidel speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
Dr. Natalie Muir-Young was born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica. Her love for children, desire to serve the community, and a particular interest in working with special needs patients drew her to the field of pediatric dentistry. Dr. Young graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2005. She completed two years of residency in general dentistry at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York before returning to Howard University to pursue postdoctoral training in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Young received several academic awards, including Howard University’s Pediatric Dentistry Award, to the resident who achieved the highest grade point average during the two years of postdoctoral study. She is passionate about working with children and providing a positive dental experience for both parent and child.
Dr. Cruz hails from Lima, Peru. He received his DDS degree from the University Cayetano Heredia in Lima. He completed a one-year Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and subsequently completed a two-year fellowship program at the school. Upon completion of the program, he was awarded a faculty appointment. During his tenure at the University, Dr. Cruz continued to practice dentistry at the community health center. He then completed a two-year pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Puerto Rico. In 2013 he moved to Virginia joining Arlington Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Cruz-Chu believes that it is essential that all children have access to quality professional dental care. He strives to minimize the anxiety children may foster when visiting the dentist so as to form life-long habits of regular dental visits and good dental hygiene.
Dr. Cruz is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist and a member in good standing of the American Association of Pediatric Dentists. Dr. Cruz speaks fluent Spanish.
Dr. Shiva Kermanshi received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California. She then received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Boston University with Magna Cum Laude honors. While in Boston, she volunteered her services annually for physically and mentally challenged children and was also involved in services pertaining to underprivileged youth. Dr. Kermanshi earned her degree in orthodontics from Howard University, achieving the highest academic average amongst her colleagues during her postgraduate study. Her two-year specialty residency included advanced education in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, early treatment for children, adult orthodontics, Invisalign® certification, and orthodontics for patients undergoing orthognathic surgery.
Dr. Kermanshi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Virginia Dental Association, and Southern Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Kermanshi prides herself in providing the highest quality orthodontic care in the most gentle and efficient manner possible. She strives to provide her patients with the most comfortable, personalized treatment using the latest and most up-to-date technology.
Dr. Kermanshi speaks fluent Farsi.
Born and raised in Naperville, Illinois Dr. Bianca Hassoun received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She made her way to the east coast to attend Boston University for dental school. Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Bianca moved to New York City to complete a general practice residency at Brookdale Hospital. She then completed a pediatric dental residency at St Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx for two additional years of advanced training as chief resident. Dr. Bianca is CDCA Board Exam Certified and an American Board of Pediatric Dentistry Candidate. She is a member of the American Dentistry Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. While not practicing dentistry she enjoys travel, working out, cooking, and spending time with family.
She is also a fluent Arabic speaker.
